IFEX Philippines happening May 21-24, 2015 |
It’s an exciting 4-day event for all food lovers and regional cuisine enthusiasts. IFEX (International Food Exhibition) Philippines – 10th Asia’s Ethnic Food & Ingredients Show opened today at the SMX Convention Center (across SM MOA).
Local & International products are showcased at IFEX Philippines from May 21-24, 2015 |
This foodie
event of the year showcases a variety of local produce and foreign brands with
the event’s incorporation of the Philippines’ hosting of the APEC Summit. APEC
member countries display a melange of food products and beverages.
Here are
some discoveries from this year’s event :
Products from La Bon Vie Enterprise |
La Bon Vie
Enterprise with Ms. Dina Bonnevie-Savellano as General Manager. There could
only be one Ms. Dina Bonnevie, the award winning actress and one of the best TV
hosts the country ever witnessed (I verified the staff and she answered in the
affirmative, also searched for some related articles and indeed, Ms. Dina
Bonnevie is at the helm of La Bon Vie Enterprise).
Products from La Bon Vie Enterprise |
La Bon Vie Enterprise
offers an array of products from Ilocos’ famous Sukang Iloko, Sugar Cane Wine,
Tablea Chocolates, Dried Pineapple, Chicharon, Spanish Sardines, Pure Mountain
Honey and Salabat (ginger extract), to name a few.
Honey from Palawan |
Exotic
Delicacies of Palawan produces handicrafts, dried fish, lamayo and on display,
Cashew, Pure Honey and Pure Wild Honey.
Dalisay Sweets |
Dalisay Sweets' Nata de Coco |
Dalisay
Sweets is a haven for Halo-Halo (layered Filipino dessert) lovers. Products are
Kaong, Nata de Coco, Red Mongo, Langka, Macapuno at very affordable prices. How
affordable? Three bottles (340grams each) of Nata de Coco is only Php100.
Cordillera Products |
Shaquil's coffee and fruit wine |
Another
brand from Kalinga is Shaquil offering Civet Ground Coffee & Fruit Wines
like Guyabano.
Davao's pride |
Davao Region
prides itself of their cacao production and I stumbled into XOCOLATE by FEDCO
(Federation of Cooperatives in Mindanao), it is unsweetened chocolate perfect
for your chocolate cravings liked Champorado and Hot Chocolate drink.
Joy Charcoal Stove |
Joy Charcoal Stove being assembled |
Joy Charcoal Stove demo |
Apart from
food and drinks, Joy Charcoal Stove was swarming with audience. This product is
an innovation of the usual BBQ grill we see grilling Pinoy streetfoods.
Beautiful Chopping Boards on display |
Now, one of
the best things I found were these elegant chopping boards at 50% off! I have
been collecting chopping boards for my food shoots and I am so glad I found
these Gastro Chef
chopping boards at Filtra Booth.
Apart from
the numerous products, there are food tastings & cooking demonstrations.
Culinary stalwarts will also be seen on specific days – Chef Boy Logro, Chef
Dino Datu, Ms. Margarita Fores of Cibo fame & Pampanga’s pride Mr. Claude
Tayag are some of the special guests.
