I am a movie buff. It is one of my favorite pastime especially when there is nothing good to watch on local free TV. You see (for the younger generations), during the 80s and 90s we were not blessed with hundreds of cable channels and YouTube was not even born yet. Oh, I hate to recall these things, I feel so old (hahaha)!

When it comes to cuisines other than Filipino, I highly favor Italian and Chinese (in that particular order). I have found myself swinging to various Italian and Chinese restaurants since the beginning of 2012. Ecstatic with the fact that there are now numerous dining spots that are striving to be as authentic as possible. Now comes Taiwanese cuisine invading the dining scene.

Back To Basics is what the 6th Manila Foods and Beverages Expo (MAFBEX) is all about. This five-day food and beverage expo will showcase about 500 booths from Asia, USA and Europe. Activities include seminars by the industry's premiere personalities, showdowns from culinary experts and inter-school competitions.

Today marks the 114th celebration of the Philippine Independence. June 12, 1898 marks that historic event in world history where the Filipino people were no longer slaves of the Spaniards and the nation's independence was proclaimed in Kawit, Cavite.
Over the years, the historic luster of the province of Cavite has faded and other provinces made their marks as generations passed. But for me, Cavite will always be a charming province, full of possibilities - not only because some of my ancestors hail from this
part of the archipelago, but because of one of my favorite vacation
destinations - Tagaytay City.
It has been a running joke when I was growing up that my love for fried chicken was eternal. Whenever people would ask me what our viand was, I was told that my constant answer was fried chicken even if our viand was Adobo, Menudo or Sinigang na Baboy.

Well, gone are the days for all things "fried chicken" as I get to enjoy other dishes - Breaded Chicken, Roasted Chicken, Hainanese Chicken, Chicken Lechon and of course, Chicken Inasal.

Apart from the obvious reason - the exemplary beauty of the sandy white beach with about three kilometers stretching from what is known as Station 1, 2 and 3, there was one thing that visitors have been accustomed to - it was imperative to taste Boracay at its purest form.
