I’m heading to Tagum!
“Say what, where is that?” would be the usual reply.
Not many are familiar with Tagum City but I have a habit of eyeing on
not-so-famous island or city that I can visit on my next trip around The Philippines.

Where is Tagum? Tagum City is Davao del Norte’s capital and touted as
the next tourism hub in the region. With a land area of 19,580 hectares, there
are only about 242,801 inhabitants.

I love enjoying local dishes but I would always prefer to end the day
with a luscious dessert. So before my trip, I searched for cafés and coffee shops where I can simply chill and found Yuyu Cafe & Dessert Shop.

Spearheaded by Chef Emerald Uy, a lovely lass with a passion for creating
delightful dessert selections, Yuyu Café & Dessert Shop is an all-day
dining destination. This young café and dessert shop has been serving good food
at affordable prices.

When I sampled some of their single cakes, I was surprised by how
modest my bill was. Imagine ordering two deliriously delicious concoctions and
only paying Php150?!

When compared to Manila desserts, a slice of cake would cost about
Php120-Php180 a piece. (Update: 2020 dessert rates in Manila costs about Php200 to Php450 per slice, depending on the café or bakeshop and it's location)

Chef Emerald also creates uniquely designed whole cakes.
Did I say that the desserts were deliriously delicious?! Yummy!
If I live in Tagum City, I would easily find myself hanging out at Yuyu
Café & Dessert Shop. Apart from the delectable array of dishes and sweets,
the place is cozy. I could just find a spot and write all day, every day here.
