Various culinary stations at BASIX
In my January 2010 article at Cook
Magazine, Cookstreet Section, I featured six different restaurants that
brought me to various parts of the world through my plate. Dusit Thani
Hotel’s all-day buffet spread known as BASIX was one hotel-restaurant
that completed the line up and a great way to start a promising year of
delicious discoveries.
There were several stations to cater to every fancy, from the seafood station where you can find rows of raw seafood varieties which you can have it cooked the way you want it, a classy version of paluto sa dampa if you will, without the fishy scent or the sweat that comes when going around a neighborhood wet market. Dimsum station is one of my favorites. Hoard your favorite dimsum from siomai, hakaw and mini-siopao plus other Chinese dimsum varieties steamed or fried that you can satiate from.

Freshly baked breads daily at BASIX
Ala-minute pancake station is
available during breakfast and turns into a crepe station by lunch and
dinner time. Public Relations Manager Danelle Ruth Palang prides of
their crepe that goes well with their homemade ice cream, a pair that I
could not resist even on a cold weather. Their dessert station is not to
be missed as well, with individual servings of meticulously designed
desserts, it was mouth-watering. Basix also boasts of their freshly
baked breads and serves unlimited drinks to go with their delightful
spread.
What’s another interesting aspect of Basix, is that their buffet menu (main dishes) goes on a 10-day cycle where frequent diners can enjoy a variety of dishes on a 10-day consecutive visit. Don't forget, every buffet eating spree should be punctuated with a deliriously delicious sweet ending and Basix delivers.
