EAT TO YOUR HEART'S CONTENT VISITS CAFE ADRIATICO PREMIERE

Cafe Adriatico Premiere started it all. This is LJC Group's first restaurant in 1979 that paved the way for more of LJC's delightful restaurants. The late great Larry J. Cruz is not only a man of vision but a well-rounded person very much evident in his dining establishments - from the menu, the ambiance and down to each table's setting.

Cafe Adriatico's Lola Ising's Adobo Rice

I have heard about their well-loved Chocolate Eh, a cup of chocolate drink inspired by Noli Me Tangere but what I cannot forget and will always be longing for when adobo comes to mind is their version - Lola Ising's Adobo Rice. The Adobo-flavored rice is topped with three generous chunks of pork belly that was cooked over slow fire in their special adobo marinade and tons of strongly flavored garlic cloves. The ultra tender pork and flavorful rice left me breathless.

The Philippines' varied regions has produced quite a number of Adobo - many versions perhaps totalling a hunded. With adobo this good, who needs another version?

  1. I love Tsokolate Eh. I think I tried the one from Abe. Haven't tried Adriatico's yet but your post definitely makes me want to visit. I love chocolate... and adobo!

  2. Thanks for dropping by Kumiko Mae, appreciate it... Abe and Cafe Adriatico is owned by the same company, LJC Group so they pretty much live up to their standards of serving the same good ol' Tsokolate Ah and Eh... Though Cafe Adriatico being the first restaurant of LJC Group has loyal following for their original dishes and drinks. Enjoy! :)
