When ice cream indulgence comes to mind, I can only think of one thing - HAAGEN-DAZS ICE CREAM. Despite the mid-week rush with work, one of the best things to unwind is to chill and savor your meal - as for me, Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream Buffet was my salvation.

Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream Buffet comes in two choices - Php499 with Eat-All-You-Can Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream and Php599 with Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream Buffet and Eat-All-You-Can pastries. At a given time, you can choose from Haagen-Dazs' 16 divine flavors - Belgian Chocolate, Cappuccino Truffle, Cookies and Cream, Strawberry and Vanilla, to name a few.
The Mechanics for the Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream Buffet and the Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream & Pastries Buffet is simple. First order, the attendant will tell you the store's flavor for the day for your first scoop (during my visit, they were offering Chocolate) and you get to choose for the next two scoops available from the 16 flavors. After your first serving, you get to order two or three scoops of your choice and the attendant will serve this on another bowl.

For the pastries, you can order one pastry at a time, but for waffles which is prepared for about eight minutes, you can have this ordered in advance. Two triangle-shaped waffles come with a miniature white ceramic filled with maple syrup. Choose your pastries wisely, as you would not want to over stuff yourself with just pastries and not enjoy your multiple scoops of Haagen-Dazs ice cream. Pastries available are brownies packed with macadamia nuts, waffles, crepe and cookies.

For my first serving, I opted for a scoop of Macadamia Nut and Chocolate Truffle plus the store's choice of Chocolate on a bed of freshly cooked crepe. Second serving was a scoop of Strawberry Cheesecake and Coffee. Third serving was Strawberry and a scoop of Chocolate Midnight Cookies. Aside from combining different-colored ice cream flavors for photo-op purposes, I made it a point to get contrasting flavors if possible and I think I made the right combinations. Macadamia Nut and Chocolate Truffle - the roasted macadamia added texture in contrast with the velvety smooth chocolate truffle.

Strawberry Cheesecake and Coffee - the strawberry cheesecake in itself was complex with the freshness of the strawberries, the luscious cheesecake and graham bits so when I added a scoop of Coffee the aroma was simply addicting and the taste lingers in my mouth.

Strawberry and Chocolate Midnight Cookies - the strawberries are intensified but never overpowering the richness of the cream while the second scoop triples the chocolate sensation with milk chocolate ice cream, mouthwatering chocolate sauce and dark chocolate cookies.

At this point, I was satiated with all things chocolate despite the combinations mentioned and to cap this delightful Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream Buffet, I had to cleanse my palate. Raspberry Sorbet and Green Tea. I am not a green tea fan and there was an aftertaste with every spoonful. But the raspberry made this tandem quite a pair. Not only aesthetically, slightly sweet but it was refreshingly good.
What's best with this Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream Buffet and Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream & Pastries Buffet? Unlike most buffets around the country which has a designated time, their offer lasts all-day, everyday. From the moment the store opens until it closes - referring only to one store, that is at SM Megamall's Atrium. To date, the Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream Buffet and Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream & Pastries Buffet does not have any expiry date. Nevertheless, I am planning to return.
